Our Programs
We work to ensure that children get a solid educational foundation in primary school and have the opportunity to move on to high school and even the university with the help of scholarships. In our after-school program we help with homework and provide tutoring in subjects where the students are having difficulty, while in our computer lab we provide the technical knowledge and skills both children and adults need to secure professional and semi-professional jobs. Our YouTube channel, Aprende con Ventanas Abiertas, provides free online video lessons covering key topics in the Guatemalan national curriculum. Learn more about these and other initiatives here.

Educational support
“
The staff at Open Windows share a genuine motivation to meet students where they are and ensure that they get the attention and education that every kid deserves. Serving as a volunteer with this group of students and staff was a privilege and we would encourage anyone who is eager to volunteer in a truly meaningful way to volunteer at Open Windows

Get Involved
There are several ways you can support the work of Open Windows. If you are able to volunteer, you can help build houses, install eco-stoves, teach classes to the children or simply spend time with them reading and playing. You could even help us build online interactive games to test the children’s knowledge after they view our video lessons. If you are unable to volunteer, you can also contribute by making a donation that will help change the life of a child.
